Welcome to the Edgerton Local School District web pages. We are pleased that you have chosen to visit us. The 2009/2010 school year offers challenges and opportunities for our staff and our students.
The district is excited about the opportunity which has been made available through the Ohio School Facilities Commission's (OSFC) Expedited Local Partnership Program (ELPP) and community support. Through ELPP Edgerton built a new high school which opened in 2004. The district now qualifies for $10,176,421 in state funds through the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program (CFAP). The Pre Kindergarten through eighth grade addition is projected to be opened in the fall of 2011.

The Edgerton Local Board of Education believes in the importance and worthiness of education in a democratic society. The Board of Education further believes in the established practice of providing equal educational opportunities for all youth without concern or prejudice because of sex, race, color, religion or political belief. We, the Board of Education, accept the responsibility placed on us by the electorate to provide the best educational system possible within the limits of the finances available for that purpose. The Board of Education recognizes the necessity and desirability of providing educational opportunities in accordance with the standards established by the State Department of Education.
Edgerton Local School District, located in Edgerton, Ohio, consists of two school buildings. The Jr. Sr. High School, located at 111 East River Street, houses grades 7-12, serving approximately 268 students. Edgerton Elementary, located at 324 North Michigan Avenue serves grades Pre-Kindergarten though 6th grade, At Edgerton Local Schools we provide students opportunities to develop their potential intellectually, socially and emotionally. We believe that our public school exist to provide an effective educational program and to offer all students opportunities to develop their capabilities to the maximum of their potential so that they may act constructively as contributing citizens in our changing society. Edgerton Local Schools has a strong academic foundation, a parent community that is interested and is actively involved, a faculty professionally skilled and personally committed to meeting the needs of students and a student body motivated to perform well.
Edgerton Elementary School is comprised of one half day "Young Fives" kindergarten, three all day kindergarten classes, two first grade classes, two second grade class, two third grade classes, one fourth grade and two sections of fifth and sixth grades. Edgerton Elementary has a library and two technology labs, and a small playground area In January of 2010, Edgerton Local Schools began construction on a new facility at the 111 East River campus. The new facility, projected to be finished summer of 2011, will house Pre-School through 8th grade. Please check out our OFSC Building Page for construction updates.
