Veteren's Day

November 9, 2018
High School Gym
9:00AM

Retired USMC 1st Lieutenant Patrick Cleburne McClary
Our Honored Guest and Speaker
During the Vietnam War, Lieutenant McClary served as platoon leader in the First Reconnaissance Battalion.  On the battalion’s 19th patrol, the unit was attacked by the Viet Cong.  Lieutenant McClary was seriously wounded, losing his left arm and left eye, yet he continued to lead his men.  The 34 surgeries and long recovery period that followed could have taken a bitter toll, but he faced his rehabilitation with characteristic determination.  Today his life shows that he genuinely embodies the vow he took when entering the Marines: Any mission assigned will be accomplished in a superior manner, no matter what the obstacles. In the years since, Lieutenant McClary has become a symbol of courage and hope to many audiences around the world with whom he has shared his story.  Also an author, Lieutenant McClary will have his book, “Living Proof” available for purchase on the 9th as well.

**If you are a veteran of the United States military, I would like to officially invite you to this event.  Please consider reserving this date for you and a guest to attend.   Lieutenant McClary will be an inspiration to us all so I look forward to seeing you at the Edgerton High School gymnasium on September 9th, beginning at 9 am.   Please RSVP to 419-298-2112 by October 19th.**
