Welcome Students to the 2018-2019 School Year!

Thank you for taking the time to check in with Edgerton Elementary as we begin our 2018-2019 school year. On the heels of a very successful 2017-2018 school year, we look forward to continuing to build upon our Mission Statement we developed a year ago;  “Instill EXCELLENCE into our students by developing LEADERS prepared to SERVE in a global community.”

Meeting the expectations of excellence isn’t always a simple task but I do believe that key constructs of excellence reside in:

  • always doing your best

  • meet every task or challenge with a positive mindset

  • have follow through in goals you set out to achieve

One aspect that I am very proud of is that as a staff, Edgerton Elementary has an outstanding group of educators that continually meet the expectations of excellence. I believe that after just one visit to our campus, you will see how excellence permeates from all staff members and our facilities.

Heading into last school year, I wanted to develop opportunities for students to take leadership roles within our building. Early in the year we developed our LEADERS, Readers, and Greeters program, that has provided students the opportunity to:

  • greet fellow students in the Loop in the morning (Greeters)

  • take over daily/morning announcements on the PA system (Readers)

  • develop opportunities to become leaders through various jobs within our school (Leaders)

I look forward to continuing the Leaders, Readers, and Greeters program this year and expand it to provide additional opportunities for students to embrace ownership of various roles within our building.

What I enjoy most about Edgerton Local School District is our amazing community. I greatly appreciate how supportive our Edgerton Elementary families are and I love our blue collar, hard-working, families that embrace the “do whatever it takes” mentality to make Edgerton a great place to raise a family and serve our students. In working with the Edgerton Parent-Teacher organization and other service-oriented programs in our community, I want to continue to develop that team-oriented philosophy of doing what is best for kids and be of service to our outstanding Pre-K through 6th grade student population and their families. As evidenced by our PTO Open House Cook-Out on August 14th, we have an amazing group of parents and community members who want to make everything for our students be the best that it can be. If you have any questions please call me at 419-298-2332 and let me know how I can be of service to you and your family.

Yours in education,
