H.O.P.E. Mentoring Program

Helping Our Pupils Excel

Edgerton Local Schools is committed to providing a quality educational experience for all children, and to prepare students with the academic, college, career, and social-emotional skills necessary for success in the twenty-first century.  H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Pupils Excel) is a school based mentoring program where community members volunteer approximately thirty-minutes per week to mentor a student.

Mentors help students:

      • Improve academic performance
      • Gain self-esteem
      • Set career goals
      • Make healthy life choices
      • Problem solve
      • Serve as supportive and positive role models

Research shows that students who have a mentor are more likely to stay in school, get better grades, and achieve a higher education.  They are less likely to become teen parents, turn to violence, and abuse alcohol and drugs.  If you are interested in becoming a HOPE Mentor, please return an application to the elementary or high school office.
